Bringing Stories to Life in the Classroom

There’s something truly magical about sharing stories with children. As an author and creative writing mentor, I offer school visits that spark imaginations, build confidence, and nurture a lifelong love of words.

My sessions are joyful, inclusive, and interactive—whether I’m reading from one of my books, leading a workshop on character creation, or guiding children to craft their own stories. Every visit is tailored to suit the needs of your pupils and link with your curriculum goals.

What I Offer:

  • Author readings with Q&A
  • Creative writing workshops for KS1 and KS2
  • Mindful storytelling sessions
  • Themed sessions linked to literacy topics or current school themes

I aim to empower children to trust their creativity, celebrate their voice, and find joy in the writing process—whether they’re avid readers or reluctant writers.

Suitable For:

Years 1 to 6 (ages 5–11). Sessions can be adapted for SEN and neurodivergent pupils.

What People Say

Kylie’s visit was the highlight of our term. She had the children hanging on every word—and excited to write their own stories afterwards!

Michael Grey, Year 5 Teacher
Gamlingay Village College

So many children said they felt like real authors. Kylie’s warmth and encouragement made a huge impact.”

Sarah Card, Deputy Headteacher
Newton Primary School

Kylie came to visit Great Gidding C of E Primary School this year to introduce us to her wonderful children’s picture book ‘There’s no such thing as Monsters’. The children loved the book and the combination of beautiful illustrations and Kylie’s delivery, brought the story alive. The children were talking about the visit for a long time afterwards. I would highly recommend that you invite Kylie to your school. Let’s treasure our local authors!
